STORY BY Patrick 15th July 2024

A giant swing, La Bascule, has opened at the French ski resort of La Clusaz in the Aravis region, close to Lake Annecy.

The swing, which can accommodate up to three users at a time, safely strapped in, swings out over the mountain side above the famous ski town.

Aparet from the thrill of the experience; riding the swing, users can admire the natural Alpine landscape of Annecy Mountains from the Confins valley to the Aravis mountain range.

This new activity, takes place at an altitude of 1860 m on the Balcon des Aravis terrace..

Two levels of swing intensity are available with the most adventurous able to start their swing from a 90-degree tilt.

It costs 20€ per person for one swing without the chairlift ride up to the swing’s location. For an extra four Euros, a 24€ ticket covers 1 swing and the Crêt du Merle and Crêt du Loup chairlift rides up to the swing for one person.  The full swing experience takes about six minutes.

Full details are available on the resort’s website.
