STORY BY Patrick 3rd July 2017

Trail runners are being warned that this autumn’s Lakeland Trails Races are nearing capacity.

The Derwentwater Trail (5K, 10K & 15K) in Keswick on 2nd September is now 85% full; the Helvellyn Trail (5K, 10K & 15K) in Glenridding on 14th October is also 85% full and the Ullswater Trail Finale (10km & 14km) on 15th October is now 80% full according to race organisers Lakeland Trails.

Lakeland Trails runs are some of the most inspiring trail running and walking events in the UK, all held within the spectacular landscape of the Lake District National Park.

The running event distances range from 5km, 10km and 14km -18km up to half and full marathon length and are designed for all ages and abilities and can also be tackled by those who have never tried trail running as much as experienced athletes.

Lakeland Trails ensure each race route is well marked and marshalled and that they take place on  environmentally sustainable bridleways and footpaths that take in some of the most incredible countryside in Britain.

There’s also a carnival atmosphere, for spectators and participants alike, particularly at the start and end of each event with live music, race commentary, food and drink all available at the start and finish.

So, whether you’re new to trail running, an experienced athlete, or simply looking for an unforgettable day out in the Lake District, a family-friendly, festival atmosphere and some amazing trail running awaits you at every one of our Lakeland Trails events.
